Just a small update. I finally have an afternoon to myself today, so today I’m planning to do a rehaul on the blog’s look and feel. The current layout was literally rushed within about a couple of days just to get it out before a performance. But now with an actual idea of what were posting, I have a couple of good ideas on how to make the layout more interesting but also more useful. Of course it’s not gonna happen over night, as I am only really the “look” of the website and all our coding is done by my good friend Jaryth, but I have a good feeling that we can make the blog a lot better.

Back when being a dancer meant you were the star..

Since then dancers have been pushed out of the lime light. Sent to be backup dancers to half dancers.  You tell someone you want to pursue dance as a career and you get this response “Jasteen! you go to school and pinish somting.  Go clean your room” Or something along those lines.

Side note: Its been embedded into my head that you have to go to school to be successful.  Spend money to go to school for four years, get a piece a paper (a really really nice one by the way, maybe even with gold on it) get a job, make money and boom! you’re  successful.  Good thing I dont plan on being successful, I plan on being significant. Significant in my community, in my city, and ill even go ahead and say country.  I may not be successful in terms of dollar amounts, but I will make my mark before I leave this world.

Fast forward to the present and dancers are starting to make a comeback.  So You Think You Can Dance, Americas Best Dance Crew, Dancing With The Stars, Live To Dance.   Dancing and dancers taking back center stage. (Tired, finish this another day…)
